          1955年生于河北冀州市。1977年考入西北電訊工程學(xué)院(原西軍電、現(xiàn)西安電子科技大學(xué)),先后獲工學(xué)學(xué)士、碩士及博士學(xué)位。1991-1994年英國(guó)利物浦大學(xué)博士后,2000年美國(guó)康乃爾大學(xué)高訪。現(xiàn)為西安電子科技大學(xué)教授,國(guó)家973首席科學(xué)家,全國(guó)天線產(chǎn)業(yè)聯(lián)盟主席, 全國(guó)電子機(jī)械工程分會(huì)理事長(zhǎng),國(guó)際工程技術(shù)學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)士, 中國(guó)電子學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)士,《電子機(jī)械工程》主編、《電子學(xué)報(bào)》英文版副主編,《Engineering》學(xué)科主編,以及其它10余個(gè)國(guó)內(nèi)外學(xué)術(shù)期刊編委。

          長(zhǎng)期從事電子機(jī)械工程的教學(xué)與科研工作,致力于電子裝備機(jī)電耦合理論與關(guān)鍵技術(shù)的研究,開(kāi)辟了我國(guó)電子裝備機(jī)電耦合研究的新領(lǐng)域。系統(tǒng)地建立了電子裝備電磁場(chǎng)、結(jié)構(gòu)位移場(chǎng)、溫度場(chǎng)之間的場(chǎng)耦合理論模型,揭示了機(jī)械結(jié)構(gòu)因素對(duì)電性能的影響機(jī)理,提出了基于場(chǎng)耦合理論模型與影響機(jī)理的機(jī)電耦合設(shè)計(jì)理論與方法。上述成果被成功應(yīng)用于探月、神舟飛船、主力戰(zhàn)艦、FAST500m口徑球面射電望遠(yuǎn)鏡等國(guó)家重大工程中。

          發(fā)表論文200余篇,國(guó)際會(huì)議邀請(qǐng)報(bào)告10余次,著書(shū)6部,授權(quán)發(fā)明專(zhuān)利40余項(xiàng)。以第一完成人獲國(guó)家科技進(jìn)步二等獎(jiǎng)3項(xiàng),入選2009年度科學(xué)中國(guó)人,2012年獲何梁何利科技成果獎(jiǎng),2017年獲中科院杰出科技成就獎(jiǎng)與中國(guó)好設(shè)計(jì)金獎(jiǎng),2018年獲亞洲結(jié)構(gòu)與多學(xué)科優(yōu)化終身成就獎(jiǎng)。

          他還曾被授予全國(guó)“五一”勞動(dòng)獎(jiǎng)?wù)拢?003)、全國(guó)勞動(dòng)模范(2005)、全國(guó)師德先進(jìn)個(gè)人(2004)、全國(guó)留學(xué)回國(guó)人員成就獎(jiǎng)(2003)、全國(guó)優(yōu)秀科技工作者(2011)等稱(chēng)號(hào)。

          He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Xidian University, Xi’an, China, in1981, 1984, and 1989 respectively. From 1991 to 1994, he studied asPostdoctoral Fellow at Liverpool University, U.K. and worked as VisitingScientist at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, in 2000. He is currently a fullProfessor in the School of Electromechanical Engineering at Xidian Universitywhere he founded the research institute on mechatronics about electronicequipment design.   

          He is Chinaman of national antennaindustry alliance of China, Chairman of Electromechanical Engineering Societyof China. He is Fellows of International Engineering and Technology (IET) andChinese Institute of Electronics (CIE), Members of International Society forStructural and Multidisciplinary Optimization (ISSMO). He serves as Chiefeditor of Electromechanical Engineering of China, Deputy chief editor ofChinese Journal of Electronics, Disciplinary chief editor of Engineering andeditors of more than 10 other international or domestic academic journals.

          His has been dedicating himself inresearch of electromechanical engineering and opened new area ofelectromechanical coupling (EMC) theory of microwave electronic equipment (MEE)in China. He has established multifield coupling theory model (MFCTM) amongelectromagnetic, structural deformation and temperature fields of MEE, madeknown the influence mechanism (IM) of nonlinear mechanical parameters onelectronic performance of MEE and submitted the integrated design methodologyof MEE based on MFCTM and IM. The above results have been successfully applied innational major engineering projects such as the lunar exploration, the Shenzhouspacecraft, the “Tiantong No.1”, and the FAST500m largest radio telescope.

          He has published authored orcoauthored 200 papers and six books, authorized 40 patents of invention. He hasreceived, as the first author, the 2nd prize of national award for science andtechnology progress of China three times (2004, 2008 and 2013). In 2009, he wasselected as science Chinese person. In 2012, he was issued Hong Kang HLHL prizeof science and technology progress. In 2017, he received award for outstandingscientific and technological achievement from Chinese Academy of Science andthe golden prize of “good design” of China. In 2018, he received the lifeachievement award from Asian Society of Structural and MultidisciplinaryOptimization.

          He has also received Awards of, fromcentral government of China, “May one” prize medal (2003), working model(2005), ethics of the teaching profession (2004), outstanding achievements ofbeing back home after studying abroad (2003), and the distinguished scientificresearcher (2011).
